Abduction in Dubno

A Ukrainian Family’s Harrowing Experience

When most people think of alien abductions, their minds often drift to rural American highways, isolated forests, or quiet desert towns. Yet in January of 2008, far from the typical UFO hotspots, an ordinary Ukrainian family living in the small city of Dubno reported an experience that would change their lives forever.

The Dubno story began simple enough. Vladimir and his wife Olga lived with their two daughters, Vanessa and Angelica, ages eight and nine. One winter evening, the children reported seeing something unusual in the sky above their home: a glowing, multicoloured object flashing white, yellow, and red lights. Both girls described it as unlike any aircraft they had ever seen, and they even made matching sketches to document the sight.

For their parents, the children’s excitement was easy to dismiss. Kids had vivid imaginations, and in a post-Soviet environment where skepticism toward paranormal tales was the norm, Vladimir and Olga thought little of it. But In hindsight, the girls’ sighting foreshadowed the extraordinary events that would follow.
